1. Make sure and buy a Kevlar vest and Helmet, if you can afford to. If you can't afford both get the vest. Every round you can afford to.
2. Try to play on servers that make it easy to get money because you will need it when you first start playing. Their are many servers that give out money easier than others. Servers with maps like Crackhouse map.
3. Play on servers that have AWP's (1 shot kill sniper rifle) disabled.
4. This should have been first but better late than never. Follow others around. Pick a high scoring team-mate from the score board (tab by default) and follow them around and help them in fire0fights. Do what they do.
5. Get the counter-strike guide and get better fast. And type this
into console (in game) cl_crosshairscale 1000 in console
6. Duck down or crouch when firing. Ducking makes your aim more accurate. Moving around and running and firing drops your accuracy to half or lower, especially when you are just starting (noob) the aim rate gets better as you do but for beginners crouching to shoot improves your aim tremendously.
7. While you are new use the weapons with the higher firing rate when you can afford it. The bigger weapons inflict more damage but you need to have good aim because they fire slower and reload slower. The high fire rate weapond cause less damage but spit out 2-3 times more bullets in the time it takes a big gun to fire.
8. Stay Calm. If you panic you die. That simple. Practice staying calm in high excitment situations.
9. Don't waste your time with grenades when you are new to counterstrike. They will only distract you and take up time until you get better at the game. They are really fun but a complete waste of time and money if you are a noob.
10. Play as much as you can. Your girlfriend/wife/funstealer will hate you and the game, but practice is the only sure fire way to Pwn all noobs like you use to be.
